Recently the term “BB Cream” has grown in popularity, but what does this type of cream really do?
The initials BB stand for “Blemish Balm”, and refers to the remedy with which certain German dermatologists treated their patients with laser surgery in the sixties, treatments that now require improvements in terms of combating blemishes and scarring, along with high-levels of solar protection.
Presently, this term is used for creams that work both on the outside as well as the inside. Internally, they help to combat wrinkles, blemishes, puffiness around the eyes and the signs of aging, further helping in the skin’s hydration. On the other hand, and this is what sets them apart from other types of creams, they cover all blemishes and even out the facial tone, providing it with a light and smooth texture, as if it were make-up.
The combination of “cream” and “make-up” is what makes this type of BB creams an ideal product, as you can now have all-in-one.
